Shift Production Operators
Shift Production Operators Required                       

£ 25,302.42 (new starter rate – during 6 month probation is £8.91 ph + premiums) rising to £25,616.24 on successful completion of probationary period is £9.072 ph + premiums

Following a 4 shift Pattern –   This is a 12 hour shift pattern working over a 7 day week

Deeside Cereals is one of the largest private label manufacturers of traditional breakfast cereal and cereal bars.  Our position as a market leader is as a result of more than 30 years of continuous growth.  Deeside Cereals has captured the market, delivering into the UK Big 4 retailers in UK and Ireland as well as EU retailers across Europe.

Following an increase in demand for cereals and cereal bar sales and some internal job promotions we have a number of shift vacancies available, specifically within our operation. Working in an autonomous role the ideal candidate MUST have experience working within a production environment.

Overtime is available and paid at time and half from Monday to Saturday and double time on Sundays.

The role is based at Deeside (Zone 2 of Deeside Industrial Park) and reports directly to the shift Line Leader.

Key objectives of the role include:

  • Responsibility for ensuring that all finished product specifications are complied with during each production run
  • Responsible for the quality and quantity of the product being produced and packed and the relevant paperwork to support this.
  • Maintain a constant supply of raw materials/ingredients and packaging to the production line.

Experience & know how include:

  • A good standard of general education is required in English and Maths
  • Problem solving skills are essential

Experience working on a process/bar/packing line or within a mechanically biased role is essential

  • A sound working knowledge of the food industry with experience of working within GMP (good manufacturing practices) is essential
  • Basic Food Hygiene Level 1 or 2 is a distinct advantage but training will be given
  • An FLT licence is also an advantage

Competencies:

Ability to use initiative and judgement in identifying and correcting production faults and stoppages and ordering raw materials and packaging to ensure a constant production run is achieved.

Verbal and Numerical testing will be conducted at first stage, candidates who meet the required standard will then be invited to attend a competency based interview and may be asked to participate in assessment exercises.

Shift Maintenance Engineer

Shift Maintenance Engineer Required

                     (Electrically biased multi-skilled engineer would be advantageous)                      

£ 39,069 per annum (inclusive of shift premiums) Level 1 – single skill
£ 40, 360 per annum (inclusive of shift premiums) Level 2 – multiskilled (qualified)

Deeside Cereals is one of the largest manufacturers of breakfast cereal and cereal bars. Our position as a market leader is as a result of over 30 years of continuous growth.  Deeside Cereals has captured the market delivering into all major UK food multiples.

Ideally, we are looking for a multi-skilled tradesperson with experience in an FMCG environment, able to carry out planned, predictive and re-active maintenance of plant equipment and machinery with the aim of maintaining plant reliability at +95%.

Hours of work:  You will follow a 12 hour days/nights pattern working 4 on 4 off on a 24/7 rotation.

Key objectives of the role include:

  • To respond to machine & auxiliary failures
  • Troubleshooting and fault finding on a range of electrical and mechanical plant equipment, packing machinery and site services
  • Installation, commissioning and repair of all plant and facilities
  • Assist the manufacturing department with line adjustments, changeovers and breakdowns
  • Responsible for improvements and reduction of downtime through increased efficiencies through own ideas and input
  • Be able to work unsupervised when tasked to do so and to organise the work of others in response to the site needs

Experience & Know How:

  • A qualified engineer to HNC/NVQ Level 3 standard in an electrical, mechanical/multi-skilled discipline
  • Hands-on multi-skilled experience on automated machines within a continuous manufacturing environment – ideally food manufacturing
  • Working experience of integrated systems, automatic packaging and palletisation systems
  • Knowledge of AC and/or servo drive systems
  • Safety driven
  • Team worker with the ability to work under own initiative

Competencies:

  • Use of own initiative and judgement in identifying and correcting all stoppages and breakdowns to production plant, equipment and services
  • Use of own initiative with some independent action to prioritise engineering problems in the absence of the Maintenance Leader/Engineering Manager

A competency based interview will be conducted at first stage interview, candidates who meet the required standard will then be invited to attend an assessment centre exercise.

Logistics Administrator

Logistics Administrator Required                               

We currently have a vacancy within our Supply Chain Department for a Logistics Administrator working Monday – Friday 37.5 hours per week, reporting to the Warehouse & Logistics Supervisor.
We are looking for someone to provide administrative assistance within our busy Supply Chain team.

Key Objectives of the role include:

  •  Schedule & book transport for customer deliveries & warehouse transfers
  •  Be the ‘go to’ person for any ad hoc transport requirements
  •  Generate & receive purchase orders for transport
  •  Communication of customer order requirements to 3rd party warehouse (products/haulier details)
  •  Accurate despatch of customer orders for all deliveries
  •  Handle customer returns/rejections as required
  •  Maintenance of haulier rate schedules
  •  Flag any batch rotation for finished products
  •  Complete paperwork for all finished goods transfer notes to 3rd party warehouse
  •  Monitor production plan updates for impact on collections
  •  Communication with Bay Operator for finished product transfer to warehouses
  •  Timely de-hire of CHEP pallets
  •  Support improvements for internal processes
  •  Admin cover for other warehouse roles where necessary
  •  Some preparation of export paperwork for submission to customs agents

Experience & Know How:

  •  Knowledge of transport & stock movements
  •  Be able to work under pressure
  •  I.T competent
  •  Excellent communication skills
