Hygiene Operatives X 2

£ 24,070 per annum rising to £24,783 following successful completion of probationary period

Shift based role following a 7 day pattern

We currently have a vacancy for 2X Hygiene Operatives reporting directly to our Hygiene Manager.

The successful candidate would be responsible for ensuring the provision of an effective hygiene service within our site; this includes both internal and external areas of the factory, general offices, amenities, locker rooms and toilets.

Key objectives of the role include:

  • Manual cleaning of all machinery, equipment, walls & fittings
  • High level cleaning
  • Follow cleaning procedures and schedules
  • Ensure that raw materials and finished products are not contaminated during the cleaning procedure
  • Carrying out safety checks on all cleaning equipment and machinery prior to use
  • Mixing cleaning solutions following the manufacturer instructions
  • Maintaining the yard, ensuring correct segregation of waste
  • General cleaning of all drains/structures
  • Cleaning of offices/locker rooms/canteen/toilet facilities

Experience & Know How:

  • Manual Handling
  • Basic food hygiene
  • Ladder safety
  • High level access
  • FLT licence desirable
  • Experience of working within a food manufacturing environment
  • Experience of cleaning and hygiene schedules
  • Excellent communication skills

Telephone interview will be conducted at first stage, 2nd stage interview will follow a competency based interview along with factory tour.

Production Operator Vacancies Process & Barline

We currently have several vacancies on Process & Bar Line, following the 4 shift Process/Barline shift pattern.

For all external applicants Verbal and Numerical testing will be conducted at first stage, candidates who meet the required standard will then be invited to attend a competency based interview and participate in an assessment exercise.

Deeside Cereals existing employees will be invited to a meeting to discuss their request for a shift transfer in more detail.

Key objectives of the role include:

  • Full responsibility for completion of all relevant safety checks prior to the commencement of the daily production programme
  • Production line adjustments, changeovers, strip downs and re-assembly when changing over a product
  • Responsible for ordering the correct volumes of raw materials and packaging from the warehouse to me the daily production programme.
  • Responsible for the quality and quantity of the product being produced and packed and the relevant paperwork to support this.
  • Maintain a constant supply of raw materials/ingredients and packaging to the production line.

 Experience & Know How:

  •  A good standard of general education is required in English and Maths.
  • A sound working knowledge of the food industry with experience of working within GMP (Good manufacturing practices) is essential.
  • Problem solving skills are essential for these roles
  • An FLT licence is an advantage
  • Basic Food Hygiene certificate at level 1 or 2 would be a distinct advantage


  • Ability to use initiative and judgement in identifying and correcting production faults and stoppages and ordering raw materials to ensure a constant production run is achieved.
