Maintenance Engineers – X2 (Electrically biased multi-skilled)

We currently have 2 vacancies for shift based engineers.  We are ideally looking for multi-skilled
tradespeople with experience in an FMCG environment, able to carry out planned, predictive and
re-active maintenance of plant equipment and machinery – with an aim of maintaining plant
reliability at +95%

Hours of work: You will follow a 12 hour days/night pattern working 4 on and 4 off and you will
report into the Asset Lead.

Key objectives of the role include:

  • To respond to machine & auxiliary failures
  • Troubleshooting and fault finding on a range of electrical and mechanical plant
    equipment, packing machinery and site services
  • Installation, commissioning and repair of all plant and facilities
  • Assist the manufacturing department with line adjustments, changeovers and
  • Responsible for improvements and reduction of downtime through increased efficiencies
    through own ideas and input
  • Be able to work unsupervised when tasked to do so and to organise the work of others in
    response to the site needs

Experience & Know How:

  • A qualified engineer to HNC / NVQ Level 3 standard in an electrical, mechanical/multi-
    skilled discipline
  • Hands-on multi-skilled experience on automated machines within a continuous
    manufacturing environment – ideally food manufacturing
  • Working experience of integrated systems, automatic packaging and palletisation
  • Knowledge of AC and/or servo drive systems
  • Safety driven
  • Team worker with the ability to work under own initiative


  • Use of own initiative and judgement in identifying and correcting all stoppages and
    breakdowns to production plant, equipment and services
  • Use of own initiative with some independent action to prioritise engineering problems in
    the absence of the Maintenance Leader/Engineering Manager.

Hygiene Operatives X 2

£ 24,070 per annum rising to £24,783 following successful completion of probationary period

Shift based role following a 7 day pattern

We currently have a vacancy for 2X Hygiene Operatives reporting directly to our Hygiene Manager.

The successful candidate would be responsible for ensuring the provision of an effective hygiene service within our site; this includes both internal and external areas of the factory, general offices, amenities, locker rooms and toilets.

Key objectives of the role include:

  • Manual cleaning of all machinery, equipment, walls & fittings
  • High level cleaning
  • Follow cleaning procedures and schedules
  • Ensure that raw materials and finished products are not contaminated during the cleaning procedure
  • Carrying out safety checks on all cleaning equipment and machinery prior to use
  • Mixing cleaning solutions following the manufacturer instructions
  • Maintaining the yard, ensuring correct segregation of waste
  • General cleaning of all drains/structures
  • Cleaning of offices/locker rooms/canteen/toilet facilities

Experience & Know How:

  • Manual Handling
  • Basic food hygiene
  • Ladder safety
  • High level access
  • FLT licence desirable
  • Experience of working within a food manufacturing environment
  • Experience of cleaning and hygiene schedules
  • Excellent communication skills

Telephone interview will be conducted at first stage, 2nd stage interview will follow a competency based interview along with factory tour.
